SeaTrepid typically draws its employees through referrals. The average operator profile is a tech-savvy electronics or computer networking technician that we train to operate ROVs and to adapt to the offshore working environment. This is a fun, challenging and rewarding job. SeaTrepid transition trains to general ROV operations as well as the individual ROV systems at our own purpose-built state of the art ROV training facility. The SeaTrepid facility is located less than one mile from The Shell Robert Training Center for general industry training certifications (such as Water Survival, Safe Gulf and OSHA's HAZWOPER Training). There is a very deep pool of personnel from which to pull our employees – the only limitation is the time needed to season the new hire to the life and pressures of working offshore as well as getting the necessary stick time/experience on the vehicle in order to advance to operator. Thus far, we have enjoyed excellent employee morale and retention.
